Features of water-based acrylic paint

Acrylic emulsion is anionic emulsion acrylic, made of acrylates and special functional monomers。 Acrylic emulsion is mainly used for waterproof construction, casein glue, water-based ink, ceramic tiles, puzzle glue, tape coating, etc. Products can be as glue can be widely used in architectural coatings. The quality and service life of the coating after painting is influenced by the composition of the selected material. For interior and exterior decoration, acrylic water-based paint is used. It is durable and affordable.

Water-based paint and its features

In the manufacture of the composition use:

  • Water;
  • Polymer dispersions;
  • Pigment.

Sometimes additives are added: acrylic or silicone based resins. By mixing with solvents, it is possible to change the consistency of the composition.

Material advantages:

  • There are no harmful substances;
  • When staining and after drying, an unpleasant odor is not emitted;
  • Ease of application (brush or roller);
  • The ability to change color by adding pigments;
  • Fast drying (within 2 hours).

Depending on the components, water-based paint is:

  • Acrylic;
  • Silicate;
  • Mineral;
  • Silicone.

Acrylic-based paintwork materials are considered universal, they are used for different surfaces.

Difference between acrylic and water-based paint

The water-based composition is represented by a group of mixtures for which the solvent is water. The properties of the product are influenced by additives (mineral or polymer).

The mixture looks more like a familiar slaked lime or chalk paint.

Paints surfaces, but does not withstand the negative effects of the external environment. The service life of such coatings is short; they can be easily removed with water.

Do not apply the composition to metal surfaces, use in rooms with high humidity (bathrooms). Mineral does not fit well on previously painted surfaces.

Acrylic is a water-based paint with an improved composition, including:

  • Distilled water;
  • Pigment;
  • Polymeric acrylic emulsion.

After choosing acrylic emulsion Malaysia, the surface acquires a rich color, resistance to moisture. The solutions are suitable for painting various substrates (brick, wood, glass, concrete, metal), reliably protect the surface.

Is it possible to apply acrylic paint on a water-based paint?

This question often arises when carrying out repairs in old premises. In the case when there are no chips, cracks or bulges on the surface of the walls, the ceiling, reapplication is allowed (if the compositions used are similar). For more articles like this one, click here.
